  • 80 day meet continues until March 24 ---- Generally running Thursday to Sunday
  • LeComte Stakes on January 19th, Risen Star on February 16 & Louisiana Derby on March 23rd (all Road to the Kentucky Derby Races)

THANKSGIVING WEEK AT VALLEY RACE PARK  ---  BRING YOUR OUT OF TOWN GUESTS TO  PLAY THE PONIES OR DOGS 

  •  MONDAY --- Mahoning Valley starts the week  with the $250,000 Steel Valley Sprint  & the $75,000 Hollywood Gaming Mahoning Distaff  --- First post at 11:20AM Texas time

 

  • WEDNESDAY  ---- 12 stakes races at Zia Park and Penn National worth $1,500,000 including the $200,000 Fabulous Stakes at Penn, the $250,000 Zia Park Derby & the $250,000 Zia Park Oaks ---- First post at Zia is at 1:00PM followed by Penn National at 5PM ---- Matt Crawford, the Racing Secretary at Zia, also doubles as the Racing Secretary at SHRP --- Eric Johnston, the Director of Racing Operations at Penn National, was previously  Vice President of Racing at SHRP  --- The Derby & Oaks races at Zia are part of their $1,100,000 Land of Enchantment Day
  •  THANKSGIVING DAY  ---Tracks running include Laurel (10:25), Churchill (10:30), Aqueduct (10:50), Fair Grounds (11:00), Gulfstream park West (11:05)  Del Mar (1:00), & Golden Gate (1:15)  --- Valley will close after the last race from California (approximately 6PM)  
  • FRIDAY  --- Normal simulcast operation resume --- Highlights of the day include  the $500,000 Clark Handicap (G1) from Churchill, the $200,000 Comely Stake (G3) from Aqueduct (G2) and the $200,000 Hollywood Turf Cup from Del Mar 
  • SATURDAY  ----  More great simulcasting with graded stakes races from Aqueduct, Churchill, Gulfstream, Del Mar & Golden Gate plus all the regualr Greyhound tracks
